Heather Morris Is Employee of the Quarter
May 2007

Northern Maine General’s Employee Relations Council has announced that Heather Morris is the Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of this year. Each quarter, an employee is nominated by his or her peers for outstanding service. The program recognizes the efforts of employees who have gone above and beyond their job duties and supported their divisions and peers throughout the quarter. The theme for the first quarter was dependability. The definition of dependability used to nominate employees was: “Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm…But in stormy waters it takes strength, commitment, and dependability to stay the course. We cannot adjust the winds, but we can always adjust our sails, and when it comes our turn to hold the helm…we must be dependable.” Additional criteria for dependability required that the selected individual be outstanding in the following areas: responding to requests for service and assistance; taking responsibility for his or her own actions; meeting attendance and punctuality guidelines; and committing to doing the best job possible, following instructions, and responding to management direction.. For the first quarter, January 2007 – March 2007, Heather Morris was selected to receive this honor. Morris is a Residential Training Specialist at Marcoux Waiver Home in Eagle Lake. According to one peer, Morris “gets everything done that needs to be, and also offers help in other areas. She listens to what the supervisor says and follows it. When she has concerns with anything she addresses it with the supervisor, which is important.” Morris’ supervisor stated that, “Heather always comes in to work whether it be snowing or freezing rain and she lives out of town. She always volunteers to work hours on the schedule when we are short staffed.” Congratulations to Heather Morris and all the employees who were nominated for Employee of the Quarter. In honor of her achievement, Morris was awarded $100.00 by the NMG Employee Relations Council.
