Northern Maine General Hospital is a non-profit social service organization located in Eagle Lake, Maine. A five member Board of Trustees governs the corporation. Daily operations are managed by the Chief Executive Officer.
Northern Maine General Hospital exists to meet local and regional needs, offering diverse services to diverse consumer groups. Through its various programs and divisions, the corporation works with at-risk children and adolescents, developmentally disabled adults, the elderly, ill, and displaced. Services include therapeutic foster care, youth group home care, adult waiver foster care, day programming for adults with mental retardation, supportive employment opportunities, nursing home care, and boarding home care.
Northern Maine General Hospital has a long, rich history of successfully responding to service trends and consumer needs. The corporation and its programs are critical resources in the lives of its 125 on-site consumers and for the state of Maine departments of Human Services, Mental Health and Retardation, and Corrections in providing quality social service programs in northern Aroostook County. The nine divisions of Northern Maine General Hospital meet a broad range of critical social service needs in a traditionally under served region of our state.
