The Mercy Home
The Mercy Home is a forty-bed, certified long-term care facility located in Eagle Lake. Medicare and Medicaid certified, the facility serves a diverse group, from geriatric to younger individuals in need of nursing and rehabilitative services, including physical, speech, and occupational therapy. The Mercy Home's mission is to provide quality care and to serve all who are in need.
The Mercy Home is a resident-oriented nursing facility that strives to provide a homelike atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to bring personal possessions from home, including a television, radio, bed, desk, or favorite chair. Ample space is also provided for other personal items including family pictures, knickknacks, flowers or plants. In order to meet the needs of our French-speaking residents, most of our staff members are bilingual, speaking both English and French.
Each resident's personal care needs are met through individualized care plans which are developed by our multi-disciplinary team. This team can consist of the resident, family and friends, the physician, the resident care director, the social services director, the activity director, the food service supervisor, as well as other professionals involved in the resident's care. The resident and his or her family members and friends play a vital role in the care planning process and aid in providing a person-centered plan.

Many of the residents' medical and psychological needs can be met without leaving the facility. The Mercy Home has established relationships that allow providers to come to the resident. Some of the services provided at the Mercy Home include: psychiatric care, psychological care, podiatry, optometry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, and cosmetology. Northern Aquatics, a therapeutic pool facility, is available nearby to provide physical therapy and programs that address chronic conditions.
The Mercy Home has a beautiful chapel that meets the spiritual needs of the residents. Religious services are held at least twice a week. In addition, the Mercy Home is hospice affiliated and provides loving care to those who are terminally ill. A private room is available for hospice patients, as well as a private family room where family members can spend quality time together.
The Mercy Home has a spacious dayroom that also serves as a dining room. Residents can socialize, watch television, or participate in activities in the dayroom. The central location of the dayroom enables the staff to have continuous supervision of the residents.
The Mercy Home provides a variety of activities to entertain and enhance the life of each resident. Some of the activities offered include birthday parties, bingo, picnics, boat rides, arts and crafts, and private family meals. Residents can also participate in community activities, including visiting local restaurants, leaf-peeping in the fall, or shopping at local businesses. Giselle's Garden and Greenhouse is available to residents who wish to participate in cultivating vegetables and flowers. The greenhouse facility is fully handicapped accessible. Activities are geared towards the needs and capabilities of each individual to help them attain the highest quality of life.

from Mercy Home can enjoy.
Most importantly, the Mercy Home strives to involve the families of its residents. Twice yearly, around Thanksgiving and Mother's Day, the Mercy Home hosts a family meal for all the residents, their families, and their friends. We also provide a family room for private visits and activities with loved ones. Family members and friends can make arrangements to dine privately with residents at meal times.
